I didn’t enter this one, partly because the categories were really challenging, and I didn’t have time to do it justice.
Very imaginative competition, with five categories of Splat, close Up (which had to use Hundreds and thousands cake toppings), Bokeh (and utilising an out of focus star effect, Portraiture and Practically Black
This is probably the biggest photography competition of the year and I’ve been shortlisted for the category of Homeland. not bad considering they had over 2000 entries. winners are announced in December
Some really superb photography from in and around Sydney..some great composition and use of light. Good site too. Inspires me to get out and about and take more Sydney shots, been a bit slack on that front
Highlights of the Guardian and Observer’s series on the greatest press photos from the last century. The series includes incredible reportage from the world’s conflict zones and moving social documentary of everyday life.
India, arguably one of the best places in the workld for people photography. On every street, in every village, a collection of Holy men, shaman, farmers, shopkeepers, chancers and beggars.
