The star of one of my all time favourite horror pics has died.  Edward Woodward was also in Callan, which I caught a few episodes of, but was really a bit before my time.  But for me he’ll always be the unfortunate young Seargant Howie, burning to death in Christopher Lee’s giant wicker man, and screaming for Jesus Christ.  In Australia however, he’ll be best remembered for a film I’ve never seen – Breaker Morant – which by most account is very good.
